RV Campground Review: Campestre Maranatha, La Paz, Baja California Sur
La Paz is an incredible city with amazing food, so much to do and some of the most beautiful beaches in all of Baja, so we were excited to spend a lot of time here.
Campestre Maranatha, the perfect La Paz RV Park
When searching for an RV park to stay at in La Paz, we were really excited to read such positive reviews on Campendium about Campestre Maranatha. It checked all the boxes! Full hookups, big rig friendly and good wifi! As an added bonuses, the grounds were beautifully landscaped, there was a pool, nice toilets and showers, laundry, a pickleball court, pingpong, a trampoline and even a delicious cafe on site.
This was the nicest RV park we saw in Baja (with Huerta Don Chano a close second). The owner and staff speak excellent English, which made calling and making a reservation easy. I honestly can’t speak highly enough about this place.
The location is primarily used as a Christian campground and the base for Maranatha Ministries, so the property is also used by local churches, schools, and families for many different activities. There were no camps going on while we were there, but the RV park was still constantly full with overnight campers and long term visitors.
We paid $168/week at Campestre Maranatha, and stayed for 3 weeks, which we felt like was a steal. If you decide to stay longer, monthly rates reflect even more savings. ($560/month for full hookups)
The location wasn’t as special as some other places we have stayed. It wasn’t on a beach or river or anything special like that. But it was easy to get to, right off the main highway, and less than 10 minutes from Wal Mart, Home Depot, and various restaurants,. It was about a 15 minute drive to the Malecón and 45 minutes to the beautiful beaches of Balandra and Tecalote.
Besides boondocking, this is the only RV park in town. Even so, we highly recommend staying here so that you can experience the great city of La Paz!
