Gulf Shores, Alabama - Our first official stay!

Gulf Shores, AL was the first stop on our trek across the US!

We stayed 6 nights and just wanted to relax, take a deep breath after a hectic month of downsizing/moving/renovating, and also take our time getting used to the RV (there was plenty to learn and get used to!)

We stayed at Doc’s RV Park and had a great experience there! It’s very pretty and green, has a nice bathhouse and laundry facility, and the staff and other campers were friendly! Why would I know about the shower and laundry facilities if we have a shower and washer in our RV?

We had beautiful weather during most of our stay aside from one chilly night. We visited the Gulf Shores Welcome Center (which is beautiful and I highly recommend stopping in if you go), and when they heard about our journey, they asked us to be their “guests of the week”, which included having our picture posted on their Facebook page and getting some free swag!

We had some great beach time almost every day. One of the more memorable afternoons was when Casen and I rode our bikes 4 miles to the beach, while Aaron and Calista enjoyed a movie together in the RV. Afterward, they drove down and joined us at the beach for the sunset.

Other notable moments were when we spent a couple hours at a local brewery and our evening out with some fellow full time RVers, Nick and Julie.

Overall, it was exactly what we needed to unwind and relax after a very hectic October.
